The software of Easy Installer is on the CD arrived with your Dell printer. Insert your CD and click ‘setup.exe’ twice to start the installation.

The software of Easy Installer is also available at dell.com/support for download. Select your Dell printer model or enter the service tag and then click on ‘Drivers and Downloads’. The Easy Installer software is available in the ‘Application’ section.

  1. Turn on both your PC connected with a wireless network and your printer.
  2. Insert the Installation CD that comes with your printer into the disc drive of your PC
  3. Click on the terms of the License Agreement- Accept option to continue
  4. Follow the guidelines of the software.
  5. If the software instructions demand, connect your printer and computer with a USB cable and disconnect it when asked by the software.
  6. Complete the Dell Printer Setup as instructed, and then organize your printer and line up your cartridges.

Complete setup by using Microsoft Windows:

When the name of your Wireless Network Appears in the List

  • Click on the option of your network and then click on ‘continue’.
  • Now Enter your network key
  • Then ‘Allow Dell Software window’ might appear, if so, click Continue or OK.
  • Remove the USB cable from the printer and the computer when instructed
  • Now your Dell Printer Setup is completed

 If the name of your Wireless Network Does not display in the List

  • Click on ‘Unlisted Network’
  • Now Enter your Network Name, and then click ‘Continue’
  • Select Network Security type that your wireless router has, and then click on Continue, and enter your network key
  • If ‘Allow Dell Software window’ appear, continue the steps mentioned above
  • Remove the USB cable from the printer and the computer when instructed
  • Now your Dell Printer Setup is completed

Connect with WPS

If the above method doesn’t work, try to connect your printer by using WPS, providing your printer and router are WPS Compatible (a WPS Compatible router have this logo on it).

  • Now press set-up in the Printer Operator Panel- Select Network Set up- Select WPS Pin Method or PushMethod
  • If selected the Pin method, enter an 8- 10 digit number that will be listed below the PIN method.
  • On the router security page (below WPS option) enter your WPS PIN.
  • To complete the Dell Wireless Printer Setup, Click on the Wi-Fi icon. 

For Windows 8(8.1)

  • Make sure the USB cable is connected with both the computer and the printer
  • Move your cursor of the mouse to your screen’s top right corner until the ‘Charms Bar’ appears.
  • Click or Touch Search.
  • Type or enter Wireless setup utility in the search box.
  • Click or Touch Wireless setup utility and continue with the instructions.
  • The printer searches for available wireless networks during the process and shows the list of them.

The name of your Wireless Network Appears in the List

  • Select your network and then click ‘continue’.
  • Enter your network key
  • Then ‘Allow Dell Software window’ might appear, if so, click Continue or OK.
  • Remove the USB cable from the printer and the computer when instructed
  • Now your Dell Printer Setup is completed

If the name of your Wireless Network Does not display in the List

  • Click on ‘Unlisted Network’
  • Click on ‘Unlisted Network’
  • Now Enter your Network Name, and then click ‘Continue’
  • Select Network Security type that your wireless router has, and then click on Continue, and enter your network key
  • If ‘Allow Dell Software window’ appear, continue the steps mentioned above
  • Remove the USB cable from the printer and the computer when instructed
  • Now your Dell Printer Setup is completed

Connect through WPS

If the above method doesn’t work, try to connect you printer by using WPS, providing your printer and router are WPS Compatible (a WPS Compatible router have this logo on it).

  • Now press set-up in the Printer Operator Panel- Select Network Set up- Select WPS Pin Method or PushMethod

 When the name of your Wireless Network Appears in the List

  • Click the network and then click continue
  • Enter your network key
  • Then ‘Allow Dell Software window’ might appear, if so, click Continue or OK.
  • Remove the USB cable from the printer and the computer when instructed
  • Now your Dell Printer Setup is completed

 If the name of your Wireless Network Does not display in the List

  • Click on ‘Unlisted Network’
  • Now Enter your Network Name, and then click ‘Continue’
  • Select Network Security type that your wireless router has, and then click on Continue, and enter your network key

  • Remove the USB cable from the printer and the computer when instructed
